The Ladies Tennis players travelled to Thorpe Bay to play in the Essex County Senior Cup Final where they met the holders and number one seeds Connaught. Having beaten Westcliff Lawn and Grove Saffron Walden on the way to the final, the young Connaught team were just too good and ran out 4-0 winners. Well done to the team on the day – Sophie Bardrick, Anne Burton, Fiona Courtauld and Sarah Walden and to Jenny King and Kerry Porter who played in the previous rounds.

With the season over 50 per cent complete, The Essex are once again in pole position to collect some silverware. Malcolm Hobbs Halstead and District Mixed A has already successfully defended its Division One title whilst Anne Burton and Ian Davis require a couple more wins each to secure the Ladies and Men’s top division.

The Men’s B, C and D teams are all fighting hard to remain in their divisions, but the Ladies B voyage into Division One is over despite recording two draws throughout the season.

The Mixed B team have again done enough to remain in the top tier.

In the Colchester League 9-0 wins for Adam Porters Men’s, Sophie Bardrick’s Ladies and Kerry Porter’s Mixed A teams over Frinton A has given them all daylight in their quest to retain their Premier League titles. The Ladies B look like they might be relegated, the Ladies C are safe and the D and E teams are currently mid table. In the Mixed the B team will remain in the top Division whilst the C and D teams are both looking at staying in their respective divisions.

Well done to everyone who has represented the club!
